Jubilant! is Back at the Old Fox Yard for 2024

We are thrilled to announce that the Old Fox Yard will once again be participating in the Jubilant! Festival, now in its third exciting year! Jubilant! 2024, a free mini youth arts festival, will take place in Stowmarket from 14 – 21 June. This popular event is organised by the Stowmarket Culture Group in partnership with local schools and professional creative practitioners, with the aim of fostering a deep connection between local youth, the arts, and their community. This Year’s Theme: 'What I Ate for Lunch'

This year’s theme, ‘What I Ate for Lunch’, invites students from ten local schools to explore and express their daily experience of lunch through photography. Under the expert guidance of talented photographer Sadie Windscheffel-Clarke, students will learn essential camera skills and techniques to beautifully capture their photographs.

Festival Launch Day: 14 June

The festival kicks off with an open venue Festival Launch Day, where students’ photographic works will be exhibited across Stowmarket Culture Group venues. From 12-12:30pm on 14 June, families, friends, and the wider community are invited to join us at Stowmarket Marketplace to celebrate the students' creativity and hard work.

Explore and Discover

After the launch, you can tour the local cultural venues, including the Old Fox Yard, to see the impressive displays of student work. Each venue will also host activities for participating students, including exclusive behind the scenes tours. The exhibitions will remain open for a week, before being curated into a major new exhibition on School Dinners, set to launch at Stowmarket’s Food Museum in early 2025.

Entry to all Jubilant exhibitions is free, making it a wonderful opportunity for everyone to enjoy the community spirit of Stowmarket.
