The Design Room’s

Affordable Artist Studio’s and Exhibition Space

Our vision is to transform the space at the Old Fox Yard into a vibrant group of ‘Design Rooms’, offering affordable, dedicated studio spaces for artists to create and refine their work. In exchange, these artists would give back to the community by hosting a series of workshops, sharing their skills and inspiring others.

Located in the heart of Stowmarket, the Design Rooms serve as a catalyst for creativity, with the potential to radiate positive energy and influence throughout the town. Our aim is to weave the creative arts into the cultural fabric of Stowmarket, providing artists with a supportive space to express themselves, while offering the community opportunities to engage with and experience the arts in meaningful ways. Through this initiative, we envision fostering a deeper connection between artists and the community, enriching the town with a dynamic, creative atmosphere.

The Design Rooms are being delivered in Partnership with Stowmarket Arts CIC, Restow CIC, Modece Architects and Fox Yard Studio, and is funded by Mid Suffolk District Council.

The Project Phases

Currently we are at Phase 1 of the project, with the future vision of developing the whole second floor of the Old Fox Yard.

Artist Studio’s

There are 3 artists studios (30 sqm) currently for rent in the old fox yard with the future potential of 12 studios.

Community Gallery

There is a community gallery (20 sqm) which can be rented out by artists in the design rooms and other local artists.
